Update

Since my last update on 19/12/2018, this is what I've been up to: Spanish - I've been practising my listening through videos. Some on YouTube, some on Netflix (with Spanish subtitles on where possible - no English!) I'm enjoying this method, with the subtitles I can understand the words my ears can't quite distinguish yet and I pick up words I don't know yet to look up later. Japanese - I've been trying to catch up on my Wanikani reviews. Currently at 367 in my queue at the time of writing this.   Listening exercises on YouTube Vocab through Memrise.  Reviewing various particles using my All About Particles book and YouTube Reviews on LingoDeer I haven't studied any other languages lately other than the above. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve so I will probably be busy next few days, but will try to squeeze in some studying when I can because I do genuinely enjoy studying these.  Merry Christmas! ¡Feliz Navidad! メリークリスマス!

Update

An update on what I've been up to language-wise recently: Japanese : I've been continuing with Wanikani reviews and Lingodeer reviews Spanish : I still need to find a resource that isn't Duolingo (instead of doing lessons there I tested myself at every checkpoint and reached the end of the course!) Portuguese : it's difficult to find things to study at my level so I've mostly just been watching videos on YouTube in Portuguese. To focus on next: Japanese : as well as continuing with my reviews I need to do some more lessons on Lingodeer. Spanish : find a good learning resource French : Try the checkpoints in Duolingo and see how much I still remember!

1st Portuguese entry

Oi, sejam bem-vindos ao meu blog. Meu nome é Carl e tenho 29 anos.

Obligatory introductory post

This post is just a brief introduction into the background of the author of this blog and what my intentions are for it. I'm not necessarily aiming this towards any audience, this is mainly for my own purposes - however, if anyone does find any use out it, then that would be an added bonus. Background I was born in Brazil, but when I was around 5 years old we moved to England, and I have lived there ever since (excluding 4 years of Uni in Scotland). I consider myself to be fluent in Portuguese, however as I left Brazil before school age my written Portuguese is not the best. I can read and write without issue, I just make a lot of writing mistakes like spelling, missing accents etc. Also, I used to read mainly 'gibis' aka comic books. My language is mostly colloquial/informal spoken Portuguese. Ask me to read a textbook or anything too complicated, and I start getting hopelessly lost. At school in England, I studied German from the ages of 11-13 and French from 11...
